NeTWORK . Learn . GIVE BACK

The Bergen County YPN’s primary target audience is “New Members”.
YPN hosts a series of events through the year that are strictly designed to reach and connect with our new members who have just joined the association. Whether you are new to the association or new to the real estate industry as a whole, our events are designed to connect you to those who will help you excel and grow as a business professional.

Breakfast Clubs

The “Breakfast Clubs” are quarterly meetings where new members can have an open discussion with fellow realtors about what is happening in the industry. Attendees are  encouraged to ask any questions and concerns they may have. Usually held four times a year, each meeting will have a different topic of discussion to focus on.

Round Tables

YPN "Round Tables"  are designed to help our new members learn from our more seasoned REALTOR members as well as other industry professionals. Our members get to sit with some of our top producers to get helpful tips from how to build a successful lasting relationships with customers to learning some of the dos and don’ts in the industry. In addition, the committee works closely with affiliate members of the association to get them to come and speak to our new members about other aspects of the business.

Sunset Mixers

“Sunset Mixers” are geared to all new members and seasoned members who have joined in the first 6 months of the year. These mixers allow the new members to network with YPNers and other members of the association. In addition, the mixers allow the YPN committee to bring awareness to various important issues and/or opportunities.

Community Service

The Bergen County YPN actively gives back to the community throught the year with four main events: The Family Promise Dinner, "Tools for School” Networking Benefit, Food Fight Mixer, and the Ugly Sweater Holiday Toy Drive. All four events partner up with a different non profit organizations  in order to collect monetary and physical donations. Along with the four main events the YPN Committee has also volunteered at the local Boys and Girls Club of Lodi in order to give back on a more personal, one on one interaction with the community.

Why You Should Volunteer  (Business Benefits)

Here are some of the many benefits to volunteering in your community:
  • Community involvement establishes that you care about your town and its residents. They will see you as more than just a service provider. “If you're bold enough to volunteer, then you'll be bold enough to knock on the person’s door again in the future and see how your neighbor is doing,” says James Pacheco, a recent Good Neighbor Awards winner. The same people skills that help the less fortunate in your town are those that you use to sell a house.
  • Volunteering puts you in contact with other community-minded people, who are often the movers and shakers in a town. They aren’t simply future clients, but people who can teach you the crucial business issues impacting the community (e.g., employment issues, zoning issues, etc.).
  • You'll benefit from whatever free publicity the group receives in newspapers and other media. Also, these experiences can offer you the opportunity to learn skills to work with press releases and handle telephone calls or can entail public speaking opportunities with local media. This is practical experience for your real estate career.
